Homemade Boots from Dora Cake

Homemade Boots from Dora Cake

I made this Boots from Dora Cake for my daughter's second birthday. I made about 4 9x13 pans, two small round and a loaf pan of white chocolate cake. I did Boot's torso first by piling the cakes then carving them. I filled the layers with white chocolate icing, then did his head, by using the two small round pans and carving.

The boots I used the loaf cake although I ended up needing more cake and didn't have the time so one of his boots was actually just bread that I squeezed into shape then iced (it worked well, I just made sure no one ate it!). After icing, I covered it all with marshmallow fondant colored with Wiltons colored gel. To finish it off I made Boot's tail with fondant.
