Homemade Camper Van Birthday Cake

My friend recently purchased a Toyota Hiace - and as we were doubling up her birthday celebrations with our annual pre-camping meeting it seemed an ideal opportunity to try out a Camper Van Birthday Cake.

I purchased a very cheap, large, disposable silver foil roasting tray from our local supermarket and made a standard sponge mixture which I trebled. I then cut the shape of the van out using a picture of the same model that I found on the internet and outlined using a thin black nozzle in black butter cream.

The rest of the cake was iced in buttercream using a star-shaped nozzle. I did glaze the cake before icing with melted apricot jam just to give the icing something to stick to.
