Homemade Camping Birthday Cake
I made this Camping Birthday cake for my adult niece, who loves to go camping.
I baked the one layer in a sheet pan. The trees are upside down sugar ice-cream cones, piped with buttercream.
The rocks by the water and around the fire place, the red fish, as well as the snake sunning itself on one rock, are made from fondant.
The fire, grass, water, flowers, and dragonfly are all buttercream frosting.
The camping gear came out of a kids' outdoor expedition toy set. The little skunk came from my collection.
The sugar ladybug is something I put on many of my cakes as a signature.
