This is a Camping Cake that I made for my husband’s 30th birthday. The canoe, tent, campfire rocks and campfire logs are were all made out of fondant ahead of time. I made my husband, my son and myself out of fondant to put in the tent. The campfire flames were made by putting red, orange and yellow icing in a bag and using a leaf tip to make flames. The trees were made by putting ice cream cones into the cake at the desired height and I used the grass tip to make the pine needles.
The sand is brown sugar and the water is just white and blue frosting smeared together with a spatula. I used mini marshmallows along the bottom for a border and toasted a few big marshmallows as an accent.
