Homemade Camping Cake

This Camping Cake is a double layer carrot cake (from scratch) iced and filled with vanilla butter cream. The trees, fish and bear are fake, obviously, from Michael's. The marshmallow sticks are toothpicks. Everything else is edible.

The bugs and rocks are jelly beans, cut in half. The fire logs are pretzels, the fire is a peach jelly candy, the flowers are candy confetti, the path is grated chocolate and there is blue sanding sugar on the water for sparkle.

I used vanilla buttercream for the rest and tinted it with Wilton gel colors. It was my first attempt at piping, so the grass is a little shaky in places.

It was really fun to make and was a hit at the party. (Tasted great, too!)
