Homemade Candyland Birthday Cake

Homemade Candyland Birthday Cake

We made the Candyland Birthday Cake in a jelly roll pan. We used 1 cake mix, but it really works better with 1 1/2 - 2 cake mixes. Frost the cake as desired. Pull-apart licorice was used to line the Candyland path. M&M’s were placed, in a repeating pattern within the licorice. My daughter was into Dora at the time, so we used Dora characters from a toy as decorations.

The lollipops were trees. Tootsie rolls were the bridges. My 4 year-old daughter and her father actually did the decorating. We just used what was on hand, but you could be creative on the other items to display.

That is genius! I love the m&m/licorice path, what a creative idea.
