Coolest Captian Kane’s Pirate Birthday Cake

I used strips of black fondant to cover the ship I carved out of cake. It looks like it was hard to make but it really was pretty easy. The process of covering the boat with fondant was quite easy. I covered the rest of the cake under the ship with buttercream and airbrushed it in blue. The island was make to look like sand and I made a treasure chest from Kit Kat’s and candy “booty” to place inside!!

I used a 10 inch round cake for under the pirate ship and made a 6 inch cake for the island. I used skewers and index cards to make the sails. I also used mini twizzlers to make a rail for the boat and root beer candies in the back of the boat to look like “beer”. The birthday boy loved it and so did the rest of the party. The cake was a hit!
