Homemade Care Bear Cake

For our daughter's 4th birthday, all she wanted was a Carebear cake. So needless to say we decided to give it a shot. We decided to make all 3 of our childrens cakes this year.

Baked 2 boxes of chocolate Devils Food cake in 2 8 1/2in x 10 in pan. Let it cool completely. Took one of the pans and used a picture out of her Carebears coloring book and cut out the shape of goodluck bear.

Used green food coloring with white cream cheese frosting for the bear leaving his tummy white. Used a can of darker green decorating icing to outline the bear. Used red food coloring for heart and nose and mouth, two little pieces of cookie for the eyes .

Now since Carebears live in the sky and always usually have rainbows around them I used the second cake and just frosted it like a rainbow using food coloring for the different rainbows. It was a hit and everyone including our daughter loved how it looked .
