Care Bears Cake

Care Bears Cake

I used the Wilton Care Bear pan to make this Care Bears cake using one box of cake mix. I used the buttercream frosting recipe provided by Wilton. I followed the instructions for the love aLot bear but changed the colors slightly.

I have found in the past that the color rose becomes a very bright pink and I wanted the bear to look more of a mauve color. I used a very small amount of the rose and added the care bears orange and a tiny bit of violet.

I made this cake for a church function and really enjoyed it. This cake took quite a while for me to decorate because of the many colors and small detail, I don't have a lot of decorating bags or multiple tips, so I found myself having to wash out in between each color. For only $1 to $2 more next time I will by an extra star tip so as not to wash out so often.

Good Luck with your next cake.
