Homemade Care Bears Cake
This Care Bears Cake was my first cake that I had made for my granddaughter Sophia. It was her first birthday. I baked one large, medium and small round cake and covered all in light blue icing. The stars were cut out of yellow fondant and the clouds were piped on with white icing. I formed the rainbow slide out of multi-colored fondant and supported the slide with small stakes and attached the Care Bears with icing.
The care Bears were hard to come by. I went on E-bay to get some of them. A cookie sheet was covered with small marshmallows and again stars made out of fondant. I am now working on an Elmo cake for Sophia's 2nd birthday and already have a request from my other granddaughter Sydney for a Hanna Montana cake.
Even though I always stress when I make these cakes, it is and has been a lot of fun, especially when I see my grandkid's faces.
