Homemade Castle Birthday Cake

I made a 2 tiered castle birthday cake along with a red dragon cake. The castle was 3 8" round yellow cakes on bottom, with 2 6" round yellow cakes on top. I used icecream cones dipped in chocolate on top of the cupcakes stacked on the 6" tier and stuck my candles through them into the cupcakes below. I decorated it with a chocolate graham cracker door and Hershey's chocolate bars to give it the effect of stones and windows.

The dragon cake was made of chocolate cake. I used the dinosaur cake instructions from sweetdreamsbytracy homepage. I used Hershey's kisses/choc chips to do the spikes on his back. I used smashed slices of gumdrops for some scales, cut down orange slices for claws, and fruit roll ups on b-bq skewers for wings.

Both cakes were covered in buttercream frosting. I used store bought cake mixes and frosting. I used food coloring for the purple and red frosting.
