Homemade Castle Birthday Cake
This little girls homemade castle birthday cake was made with two hexagonal cakes placed on top of each other. The cake board was also iced with white frosting for a nice and neater finish. The frosting was butter icing and was left a natural butter icing color.
Ice cream cones with sweets (smarties) were used as castle towers. The sweets were attached with icing and the cones were finished off with a fringe made out of pink plastic icing. The doors were cut out of pink plastic icing and after being placed on the cake, piping was added to finish it off neatly.
The 'Happy birthday' was actually candles and gave quite a lovely effect. More candles were added at the back of the cake, these were sparkler candles and looked absolutely gorgeous when lit! Little toys (the pony and bunny) were added to fill up spaces. More ball sweets were used for added details to the walls and to create a paving on the outside of the castle (jelly sweets were used).
The cake was also decorated at the back so that it looked just as good at the back as it did at the front! The little 4 year old loved this homemade castle birthday cake!
