Coolest Castle Cake

For this castle cake I started with two 10×13 cream cheese pound cake layers as my base with a strawberry filling. My second layer was a single 7×10 lemon layer. For the top layer I made two 9 inch rounds and cut to the size I liked.

The lemon layers had a raspberry filling. I made marshmallow fondant to cover it. I made three batches of pink using jet puff strawberry marshmallows to make sure I had the same shade of pink. Then I made three batches of white. The first was dyed blue, cover the cake board and resemble a moat.

Then I colored some yellow, purple, and another shade of blue for flowers. I used a Wilton fondant and gum paste flower press to make the flowers. I used Wilton decorators icing to put the flowers on. I also used chocolate licorice for the drawbridge and windows.

The towers are made from rice krispie treats covered in fondant and the tops are sugar ice cream cones. Towers started leaning because it was so hot.
