Coolest Castle Cake

I made this castle cake for my daughter’s 1st birthday. All together it was very simple. I got many ideas from this website. The bottom was a 12×18, the middle was 2 11×15 cakes stacked together and the top was an 8×8.

I crumb coated the cake first and let it sit in the fridge overnight. I used homemade buttercream and colored it with Wilton gel colors. I used plastic drinking straws in the bottom and middle layers for support. The top and the middle layers were on cake boards.

I frosted the sugar cones and rolled them in sugar sprinkles. I cut the corners off the bottom cake to fit the cones. I used Hershey bars for the door and windows. It was an awesome centerpiece for my daughter’s birthday and everyone loved it.
