Sophie's Castle Cake
Thanks for all the great ideas on this site! I used ideas from a pile of your castles and put them together to make this castle cake for my daughter.
The towers are Swiss rolls and the rest is one square and one round chocolate mud cake. Trim curves from the corners of the square cake for the Swiss rolls to fit into. I used Bulla Dream Whip for the frosting because its so easy and delicious, with ready-made Orchid icing for the trims.
I stamped out the vine leaves and edging the night before, as well as covering the ice-cream cones and let them dry, and did the piping last. The pink cachous bled some colour into the Dream Whip so in retrospect I would use silver ones.
It took a long time but my princess loved it so it was worth the effort!
I hope someone else will be inspired by my cake as I was inspired by all yours.
