Coolest Castle Cake

I made a full sheet castle cake with two mixes. Then, on one end put a 9″ cardboard (covered with glad wrap) cake support. I put four dowels through holes in the support and then lowered two 9″ sq layers onto the dowels. Each 9′ layer was a full cake mix so they would be thick.

I frosted the entire cake with pink. The lattice fence and door are done with royal icing made 2 days before so it could harden. Turrets are ice cream cones, flat bottom and cone shaped, rolled in crystal sugar.

After installing the turrets comes the landscaping. I made grass grow all around and did Camellia bushes by the door. The swan is also royal icing and the draw bridge is purchased Mexican cookies. I sprinkled crystal sugar on tops of both sections.

The princesses are figures belonging to the birthday girl.
