Homemade Castle Cake

I got the ideas for this castle cake off of this website. I used 2 9 by 13 cakes and layered them with icing in between and two 6 inch round cakes with icing in between them. I cut the cakes to make them level.

It took 3 boxes of cake mixes. One for each 9 by 13 and one for the 2 6 inch rounds and 6 cupcakes. I only used 5 cup cakes on the cake though. I made my own butter cream icing and tinted it with food colouring.

I let my daughter pick out the colours and the candy. I did a shell border around the bottom and top of the 9 by 13 cake and put candy around the round cake. I put sugar cones on top of the cupcakes to look like towers. I stuck the banner and flags in with toothpicks.

My daughter absolutely loved this cake!
