Cool Homemade Castle Wedding Cake

I made this Castle Wedding Cake for one of my best friends weddings. The bottom cake was made from a 14″ sponge, covered in ivory sugar paste, I used 4 mini Swiss rolls, 1 in each corner secured with buttercream, to give the castle effect.

The tower was made using a 6″ round sponge cake, a large Swiss roll and a mini Swiss roll. I used dowels for support, each covered separately. Once it was all assembled then I piped brick like lines using a thin piping nozzle.

I put roses in each corner and at the front of the cake. The Mickey & Minnie actually came from Disneyland (my friend had bought them on a previous holiday specially for her cake), then to finish I sprinkled heart shaped confetti over the top of the cake around Mickey & Minnie.

  1. like the fact its more or less all edible. I can buy the towers here made from rice paper but this idea is so much better. Really well done .
