I made this castle wedding cake for my friend’s daughter. I made a fruit cake for the bottom and chocolate for the middle and plain for the top. I iced all tiers in ivory and hand made the ivy leaves which I wired together to go around the cake.

The castle was made using some plastic tube I had from some ready rolled icing. I covered the tube with sugar flower paste icing and left them to dry. The turrets were made by making a circle and cutting a triangle out to form a cone shape again. These were left to dry. The walls were made using the same icing but I cut out windows and doors before leaving to dry. I piped around the windows and doors and the turrets and then went over with gold dust.
