Homemade Cat Birthday Cake

I wanted to make a Cat Birthday Cake for my friend Jessica. She loves them and of course everyone loves cake. To make this cake I baked 4 9" cakes. To make the body I cut 2 of the circle cakes in half and laid them flat side down and frosted them together.

To make the legs i cut the other circle in 3 pieces, so I had 2 curved pieces and the rectangle piece from the center. The 2 curved pieces I placed flat side down and frosted them to the back side of the body. I cut the rectangle piece in half and used those for the front paws.

From the last 9" I cut a smaller circle for the head, 2 triangles for the ears, and a curved shape for the tail. Frosted the whole cake in chocolate frosting. To make the face I used decorating gel. I also used Twizzlers pull-n-peel for the whiskers but the gel would have worked just as well.
