I made this Homemade Cat in the Hat Birthday Cake for my daughter’s Dr. Seuss party at day care. I used a ball and covered it in fondant to make the cat’s head. I dug out a bit of cake to make it look like the cat was coming up out of the cake. I added some fingers, made of fondant, around the head.
The hat was not my best work. I used felt because I didn’t want to use fondant which could have ended up too heavy.
