Homemade Chalkboard Cake
I had some issues in the beginning with this Chalkboard Cake, but in the end I was satisfied with the result. When this cake was ordered I did not have the correct size pan, so I tried using two 9x13 pans pushed together, but the icing fell in the middle and it was not pretty. This is a two-layer half sheet cake with buttercream icing and marshmallow fondant decorations.
To get the icing black for the chalkboard I had to buy Wilton icing color, the black food coloring didn't work. I used regular food coloring for the fondant and made the designs free hand.
