Homemade Charlie and Lola Cake
I just used a simple two-layer cake as a base and canned frosting that I tinted myself for this Charlie and Lola Cake. I used a star tip to design Lola's face and hair and then smoothed the surface using a knife dipped in water.
The black outline and hair is black shoestring-type licorice. The eyes, hair clips, and hearts on the tray are Air Heads candy that I cut with scissors to the shape I desired. The black portion of Lola's eyes are black gumdrops that I cut the tips off of.
We just love Charlie and Lola and this cake was so fun and easy to make!
