Homemade Cheeseburger And Fries Cake

I made this Cheeseburger And Fries Cake for a company BBQ. The "buns" are white cakes, the bottom baked in a round cake pan, the top in a Pyrex bowl. The "burger" was chocolate cake baked in a round cake pan. The "cheese" is marshmallow fondant, colored with icing gel coloring. The fries are made with some leftover almond cake I had in the freezer, cut up and then browned under the broiler. The "sesame seeds" are slivered almonds.

I used Wilton pre-made icing from a tube for the "ketchup" and "lettuce" and homemade buttercream for the rest, with crushed Oreo cookies pressed into the sides of the "burger" to make it look more burger-y.

It took me three evenings to make (bake/cool, crumb coat, assemble/decorate) but was totally worth it.
