Cool Homemade Cheeseburger Birthday Cake for my Hubby’s 30th

My hubby’s favorite food is burgers so I decided to make him a Cheeseburger Birthday Cake for his 30th birthday. Got most of my ideas right from this site.

Used 2 white cakes for the “buns” – frosted with buttercream icing tinted with Wilton brown and Winnie the Pooh gold. “Meat” was a 9″ dark chocolate cake frosted with chocolate buttercream icing tinted with Wilton black and brown. I then used the crumbs I had trimmed from the cake and pressed them against the sides of the “meat”.

I used the pre-made Wilton fondant to make all the toppings, used as is for the onions, tinted with Winnie the Pooh green for the lettuce, Winnie the Pooh red and gold for the tomatoes, Winnie the Pooh gold for the cheese, and a mix of brown and Winnie the Pooh gold for the olive.

After all assembled and top bun was frosted, I pressed Rice Krispies onto the top to look like sesame seeds as a few others on this site have done. I then used a wooden skewer to attach the olive to the cake. This cake impressed everyone and was a lot of fun to make!!
