I made this Cinderella birthday cake for my niece’s 5th birthday. I got this cake idea from the many examples on this website. I used a Wilton doll cake pan for her dress and then just inserted a dollar store Barbie doll inside the hole. The height was good and her foot fit into the bottom layer of the cake to give it more stability.
The bottom is just a standard 10″ cake pan. ( but I used a cake mix and a half to give it more height.) I used two different kinds of box cakes mixes which looked very pretty when it was cut. I crumb coated both cakes and covered the bottom in fondant . Then I dyed the fondant for the skirt ( sky blue) and just used tinted blue Vanilla icing for the rest. I also wrapped her arms in white fondant to look like gloves.
It was my first attempt at using fondant and it came out just lovely.
