Homemade Circus Cake
I made this Coolest Circus Cake for my daughter's 5th Birthday. I did a circus theme birthday. I used a large round cake pan for the base and used Wilton's Giant Cupcake Pan for the circus tent (you need to use a dowel or something to hold weight of heavy circus tent). I decorated the tent using #18 Wilton Tip and used red and white icing. I used Duncan Hines Vanilla and just used food color to get the right colors. It was a huge hit!!
I purchased a circus cake topper on line which is how I got the clowns and balloons on the cake. I used squiggly candles to add to the fun color scheme. I then pipped red and yellow around the bottom of the cake. Inside was a simple devils food cake receipe (you can use a box to save you some steps....decorating is the best part anyway)! I used some really great ideas I got from this site and then come up with my own version. This site is awesome!
Happy Birthday Ella!
