Homemade Classic Pooh Cake

Homemade Classic Pooh Cake

I made this Classic Pooh Cake for my older brother's baby shower. It is their first baby!

I actually used box mixes for this cake, which I don't like to do but was in a bit of a hurry. One white and one devils food. It was three layers torted to make six. I brushed the white cake with disorono and the devils food cake with a hazelnut liquor. Between the layers I frosted with a home made cream cheese frosting and the outside is decorated with homemade butter cream.

After I put all the layers together I crumb coated then did a basket weave along the sides (my first time!). On the top I drew on the classic pooh using one of my kids baby books as a guide. I drew him on with an embroidery needle then piped the icing over the lines.

With the leftover batter I made cupcakes for my kiddies. The cake turned out pretty delicious!
