Easy and Fun Construction Site Cake

I made this Construction Site Birthday Cake for my lovely wee niece for her 4th birthday because she loved Bob the Builder. After thinking about it for a couple of weeks it was quite easy to put together.

Firstly I started off with a normal Victoria sponge recipe to make the rectangle ‘stage’. To decorate it I covered it with green butter icing to represent grass (you could use grey icing for concrete). For the road I used some After Eight mints and at the end of it I crushed some chocolate biscuits to represent the rubble that ‘Roly’ was flattening.

In the other corner of the cake I placed ‘Muck’ beside an up turned fairy cake covered with butter icing and some more crushed biscuits on top. And of course there is Bob the Builder supervising too!
