Homemade Construction Site Cake
My son loves anything to do with tractors (farming or construction). We have a lot of construction going on in the area that he gets a kick out of everytime we pass it. So I knew he would have a construction birthday party with a Construction Site Cake.
I just made a yellow cake (from a box) and covered it with chocolate icing. I used a chocolate cake crumbled up with a few crushed Oreos for the "dirt" on top and around the edges. I used a Fruit By The Foot Fruit roll up for the orange barrier you usually see around construction sites.
I bought the construction cone candles online. I made the sign out of cardboard, toothpicks, a printed sign from my computer (and wheels I stole off a toy car).
It was super simple and tasted great too! It was a big hit at the party and my son LOVED
it!
