Fun Homemade Cookie Monster Face Birthday Cake

Here are the instructions for this Cookie Monster Birthday Cake. Cake: sponge, eyes: Kimberly Coconut Creams (marshmallow biscuits) with Cadbury’s Chocolate buttons stuck on with melted chocolate, mouth: melted chocolate, fur: Vanilla Butter Cream icing made with about 25% extra icing sugar and coloured with a tablespoon of blue food colouring.

Once the sponge had cooled, the melted chocolate was poured over the top of the cake. Then the eyes were stuck onto the melted chocolate. With a knife mark out the outline of the mouth. As the chocolate was cooling I began piping the icing on the sides of the cake using a star tip and a syringe. Start at the bottom squeezing small amounts of icing at a time. I worked upwards in sections to minimize the times I had to rotate the cake. Just make sure you have enough icing beneath to hold any more icing up. Before pulling the syringe away push it into the icing slightly as this will make sure the icing doesn’t pull away from the cake.

To finish the Cookie Monster Birthday Cake I placed a cookie in his mouth.
