Baby Cookie Monster Cake

This Cooke Monster cake was done using the Wilton 3D teddy bear pan (I followed the recommendation for using one pound cake mix and one yellow cake mix). I cut off the ears and used them as the "arms" and made the mouth and eyes from fondant (secured with lollipop sticks).

I also glued the cookies together with icing so they wouldn't move (I used Chunky Chips Ahoy). The fur was made using the Wilton "grass" tip.

So inspiring, I am going to bake this cake for my daughter's 1st birthday and am a bit of an amateur baker, so it is a pretty big challenge but I am up for it!!! Thanks for the great tips and inspiration!!

what a great cake! did you cut out a mouth or does it just appear to look like that? if you did cut a mouth, did the fondant keep it from caving in? thanks!

Awesome job on the cake! I love it! Did you use Wilton food coloring to get the right blue for the cookie monster? If so, what shade of blue did you use? If you have the exact color, that would be great. Thanks!
