Coolest Cowgirl Cake 8

Cowgirl Cake
For my daughter's 3rd birthday, we did a cowgirl themed party and I wanted to find the perfect cowgirl hat cake but could not find one or a pan to make one, anywhere so I made one myself.
I started with a 13 x 9 sheet pan for the base of the cake/brim and then baked another cake in a large Pyrex bowl to use for the top part of the hat. I then put the cake I baked in a bowl on top of the sheet cake and began carving until the shape looked like a hat.
I then covered the entire cake with a tan tinted butter cream frosting using the star tip and then used a round tip to make the little red tie around the hat and the star on front. This made it match the hats we gave as favors at the party.
This was my first attempt at carving a cake into a shape and I think it turned out pretty well. The birthday girl loved it and that was the most important part!
