Coolest Homemade Crossword Puzzle Cake
We made this cake for my mother in-law's 65th birthday party. We used a 13X9 cake for the base and covered it in brown/marbled fondant and then gave it a brown wash over with Vodka and brown food coloring. I created the crossword so that it had all of the family names on it with clues and had it printed at a local cake store.
The cup is made with sugarpaste and filled with chocolate pudding and hand-painted using Vodka and food coloring. The pencil is made with sugarpaste as well. An edible marker was provided as well and everyone had a great time filling out the crossword on the cake.
