Cute Homemade Curious George Birthday Cake for my Daughter

My daughter is FASCINATED with Curious George, and after spending a couple of months looking for one to buy without any luck, decided to make my own.

I used an 8 inch round for the head, a 9X13 for the body (and cut off diagonal pieces for shoulders and used them to piece together the neck). I used two cupcakes for his ears. I just used Betty Crocker brown frosting for the head and mixed in some white with it to get the lighter color brown for the face and I used white frosting and added lots or red food coloring to make the body.

Then used a little bit of yellow coloring to do the writing. I used brown smarties for the eyes! For those who don’t have a proper accessory for writing with frosting (like I don’t) I took some little sandwich baggies and put the frosting in, cut a small snip in one corner and used that to write. Just don’t squeeze it too hard!
