Coolest Curious George Birthday Cake Design

I made this Curious George Birthday Cake Design for a 2 year old’s birthday. I used regular cake mix and store bought frosting (2 years old’s don’t know the difference). I used a Pyrex bowl to make the body and the sports ball pan to make the head.

Using a picture from a kid’s book as a guide, I made the face out of fondant. The ears and hands are also fashioned from fondant which I colored using Wilton paste colorings. The arms were made from Rice Krispies Treats which I formed and then frosted. I used tooth picks to attach all appendages. I pushed a wooden dowel down from the head through the entire cake to ensure it held together.

By George, he was a big hit.
