Homemade Curious George Cake

When my nephew was in the hospital, I told him I would make him a banana cake when he got out. So when he did, I prepared a Curious George cake in keeping with the banana theme.

It was a double layer 10" chocolate cake filled with banana flavored frosting. I used copious amounts of banana extract instead of vanilla in the frosting. Using a small round tip, I outlined the picture, then I used a star tip for the color fill-in.

After letting the frosting "set" in the fridge for a few minutes, I carefully used a Wilton lettering stamp to outline the letters using two different sized round tips. Then for added decoration on the side I "hung" frosting "bananas".

This turned out to be a fabulous cake, the chocolate cake and frosting mixed with the banana flavored frosting was out of this world!
