Homemade Blue Poison Dart Frog Cake

My friend asked me to make her favourite animal, the Azure blue poison Dart Frog Cake.

The cakes to make the body and head of the frog were baked in 2 different sized oven-proof bowls, this was then covered with one very large piece of blue sugarpaste icing and gently folded in around the neck.

I then pressed two dents into the head for the eyeballs to sit in and made little eyelids to droop down over the top. The arms and legs are moulded sugarpaste.

I then painted in the pupils of the eyes (Azure frogs actually have black eyes but I thought it looked a bit sinister and decided to cartoonise it) and black spots over the head and back.
