Homemade Darth Maul Cake Design
Sadly, I did not get a picture of the Darth Maul Cake Design before transporting it so this picture is of it after it was dropped but it still came together fairly nicely. When I opened it up the kids all knew it was Darth Maul and my son loved it! Every year I make my sons’ birthday cakes and for months my son asked for a Darth Maul cake for his 7th birthday and I was at a lost as to what to do. Every picture I found on the internet seemed to be made with fondant or have a plastic head on it.
Finally, after much brainstorming I came up with this somewhat easier version. I used an oval shape glass casserole dish to bake the red velvet cake, made cupcake to go around and the spikes I made with waffle cones cut to different sizes. The frosting was cream cheese and hard to get to a true red but that was the flavor my son wanted. It did take a while to draw the lines on Darth Maul’s face but it was such a hit it was well worth it.
