Coolest Diary of a Wimpy Kid Book Cake

This Diary of a Wimpy Kid book cake was for my nephew’s 11th birthday. I asked him what kind of cake he wanted and he said something to do with Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Not knowing much about the book except that my son had it, I thought a cake replica of the book would be a good idea.

It was fairly easy to make. The cake is a 13×9 covered with white butter-cream and red fondant for the cover. The bottom cover is just small strips of red fondant. I used a fork around the sides to make it look like pages. The picture was drawn with food coloring markers on a piece of white fondant. There is a piece of white fondant on the spine with the title of the book, but I don’t have a good picture of that.

It was one of the easiest cakes that I have done and my nephew loved it and so did his friends.
