Homemade Dinosaur Birthday Cake

I made this Dinosaur Birthday Cake for my nephew's third birthday using store bought cake mix and butter cream, and fondant. I made 4 sheet cakes, two side by side (the smaller ones you can buy at any $1 store), used a template I cut out of cardboard.

After I got the shape I wanted I glued the two layers together and iced it. After letting it chill, I rolled out some fondant ropes to go around the eyes, nose bridge and jaw, before I wrapped it all with fondant. I used brown and green food coloring to hand paint the body and eyes. The teeth are made of fondant as well.

My nephew went crazy for this cake!
