Homemade Dinosaur Land Cake
This is my son's fourth birthday cake that I made for him. He is a huge dinosaur lover.
The volcano is made from 3 round chocolate cakes then carved down to look like a volcano. I then covered it with homemade frosting and put an empty votive glass inside the top so that we could put dry ice inside to make it look like the volcano was smoking. Great visual effect!
The grass was made from white cake and covered with homemade buttercream frosting. All the dinosaurs were made out of rice krispie treats and then covered with fondant. The flier was made the same way but I inserted a hook in the back so that I could hang him from some bent coat hangers which were attached to the cake board.
Everyone loved this homemade dinosaur land cake, especially my son.
