Homemade Dinosaur Scene Cake

My son had a dinosaur theme for his birthday and I was very proud of how well the Dinosaur Scene cake came out.

I used a Wilton cake pan for the volcano. It was a small size and seemed perfect for what I needed it for.

I made a 12x18 sheet cake. I frosted the whole cake green and then waited a little bit so the green frosting would be nice and firm and wouldn't move around when I made an outline for the blue pond and then filled it in.

I used plastic dino figurines for the dino details as well as fake trees and rocks and I even had a mini alligator for the lake.

It was pretty easy to frost and was fun to make. Enjoy!
