Coolest Dirt Bike Birthday Cake Design

I made this Dirt Bike Birthday Cake Design for a friend of mine, she has twin boys who love their dirt bikes. I baked square chocolate cakes (10×10) and stacked 3 together with the filling and froze them overnight. I carved it so the bikes weren’t just flat on the cake. I covered them in blue MM fondant and cut the bikes and guys out of fondant and assembled them on the cakes. I colored some butter cream frosting brown but didn’t quite mix it all together to get that dirt look and put it around the bottom of the cake.

They loved them! And it wasn’t even super hard to do.

  1. Hi there, I’m glad you like these cakes, it was super easy. I googled pictures of their favorite riders and when I found the picture I wanted I printed it out on card stock and just outlined the basic shapes in sharpie so I could cut them out to make templates. You have to print out a few of the same picture so you can get all the parts and from there it’s just about stacking them together on the cake in the right order! I hope that helps! Oh and put the mud on the cake first and then you can go back and add mud to the dirt bike wheels after.

  2. Hi there! Yes I did use a template, I found a picture that I liked and I printed it out on card stock, traced the basic shapes with a sharpie and cut them out to make a template. You’ll need to print out a few pages of the same picture so you can get all the layers! I hope that helps. I tried to post yesterday but for some reason my comment didn’t show up.
