Dirt Bike Cake

Dirt Bike Cake

This Dirt Bike cake is a simple sheet cake. I used two boxes of cake mix, chocolate and vanilla. Colored my homemade buttercream icing green and tan and used the scraps from the cake after I leveled it for the hills.

I crushed some Oreo cookies to make the dirt on the track. I would use regular chocolate cookies next time. I had to remove all the white fatty goodness from the Oreo to make plain dirt. What a waste!

I love using fondant so I created a few characters to add a little ME to it. It took about 2 hours. I had a really hard time finding ideas for a dirt bike cake so I hope this helps you!

Your cake was AWESOME!! I don't think I could do the part with fondant. I've used several of ideas from the Family Fun magazine;and I'd love to try this one. Only my won't be as fancy I'm afraid.

Awesome cake! I am making today for son's 3rd b-day. Next time you need to do dirt just pie the Oreo pie crust and it crumbles fast and easy!

Thank you so much for posting this! It seems fairly easy and like something I can do... I'm going to attempt it for my fiance at our wedding for a groom's cake! I'm very excited .

You can just use Oreos and crush them up on a food processor. The white creamy centers are invisible when you do that. Making this cake as we speak (okay, waiting for the cakes to cool).

Wow, this is such an awesome idea for a cake. I am going to make it tomorrow for my boyfriend's birthday. And here's a tip, don't bother looking for a dirt bike cake pan, they are few and far between!

too cool!

I also loved your idea. I made this cake for my grandson's 7th birthday. I bought the bike at Walmart's in the toy section. Everyone loved the cake!
