Homemade Disney Character Birthday Cake
I made this Disney Character cake for my brother-in-law and niece. I wanted a theme that they would both enjoy. She loves Disney and he works in the movie industry as an animator. I thought Minnie Mouse would be perfect for her, and Fantasia Mickey would be great for him. They loved it and it was the hit of the party!
I used two 9" round cake pans for the base and, for Minnie's ears, I used two glass bowls to give it the rounded effect. I covered the whole thing in fondant, shaping the ears out of it also. I used an ice cream cone, covered in fondant, for Mickey's hat.
I am new at making cakes with fondant. This was the third cake I had ever made and I am very pleased with the result. It was also fun to make!
