Homemade Dora Birthday Cake

My daughter wanted a Dora Birthday Cake, so I used a Dolly Varden cake pan and made a buttercake into this. I used a plastic Dora doll about 12cm big instead of the usual barbie style doll.

I cut the top of the cake off, then scooped out some cake to fit the Dora doll into the cake up to her waist. Then I iced it in yellow buttercream icing all over the "skirt" of the cake then piped icing onto the Dora doll to cover her original outfit.

I made a cone shape hat out of yellow card and attached some curling ribbon to the top as tassles. I stuck on small pink icing flowers around the waist of the dress and placed a few on the skirt of the dress.

My daughter just loved it for her third birthday.
