Homemade Dragon Birthday Cake
I made this Dragon Birthday Cake for my nephew's birthday. I carved out his body out of a sheet cake and stacked them to make it taller then I carved out cupcakes for his feet and used gumpaste for his wings and claws. I attached the wings to long sucker sticks and let them dry and did not insert them into the cake until the cake was at its final destination.
I also used gumpaste for the tail and spikes on his back. I tried to make his skin look scaly by making indentions in it to look like scales. My sister in law had the idea of using bright colored red and orange tissue paper to look like fire coming out of his mouth!
