Cool Homemade Fire-Spitting Dragon Birthday Cake

I made this Dragon Birthday Cake Design for my stepson’s 7th birthday. I used 4 round cakes, 2 chocolate and 2 vanilla. I got many of the ideas from this site then incorporated Zach’s ideas onto this dragon.

The body is 2 round cakes with just the bottom inch cut off, make sure you get icing between the cakes so they stay together. The rest of the dragon was cut out of remaining cake. The icing is just Betty Crocker icing dyed green. The scales are green fruit roll up, the fire is red and yellow fruit roll ups and the wings are also fruit roll ups supported by wood skewers.

The claws and teeth are candy corn, the spikes are midnight mint squares cut in half, and the eyes are marshmallows with chocolate chips. Zach wanted the dragon to be protecting treasure so we bought some chocolate coins.

The cake was a big hit and didn’t take as long as I thought it would.
