Homemade Dunkin Donuts Cake

I made this Dunkin Donuts Cake for a Home and Gardens competition for the Monmouth County Fair. It was my first contest and I won second place. First would have been great but I was still proud of myself and kids were too, that made it more exciting.

I made the donuts out of rice krispies. I made the jelly for the jelly donut and Munchkins by melting red Swedish fish in the microwave for about 10 -15 seconds.

When cooked enough to handle I put it on the donut. Everyone thought the donuts were real. The mug base was pound cake covered with fondant. The mug handle was rice krispies.

I secured it with skewers. The DD on the front of the cake is also made out of fondant.
